Down Syndrome Information and Support Act of 2016

Nebraska passed a law in 2016 requiring persons who deliver test results that show a high likelihood or the definite presence of Down syndrome in a child to give accurate, up to date, information to the family at the time of diagnosis.

The  Down Syndrome Information and Support Act of 2016   requires that the Nebraska Down Syndrome handout  be given at time of diagnosis or suspected diagnosis. This handout is an overview of information sheet for new and expectant parents. This handout is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Kurdish, and Chinese (Mandarin).

If you would like a print copy of this handout, contact medicaloutreach@dsafnebraska.org
