As a layer of support DSAF offers a Parents' First Call Program. This program matches new/expectant families with a parent of a child with Down syndrome. First Call Parents are knowledgeable in local and national resources, have first hand experience raising a child with Down syndrome and are generally great people. You can ask them questions, get to know the Down syndrome community, meet their child, etc. Think of it as a mentorship with valuable information and adorable kids.
